#1 Hi, I was wondering if anybody could explain or outline the main differences between the 1.9tdi 2.0tdi on a manual transmission 55reg a3 Thank you Ash B Registered User Joined Jul 19, 2008 Messages 5,826 Reaction score 84 Points 48 Location Cardiff South Wales Sep 2, 2009 #2 1.9tdi 105bhp and 2.0tdi 140bhp. If you plan on making your next car purchase in 2010 or 2015 then I would definitely recommend the TDI. Properly serviced, it will last much longer than a 1.8T. And when late-in-life problems do pop up, the TDI engine is simpler than the 1.8T, especially in the top end (2 valves/cyl for the TDI vs 5 valves/cyl for the 1.8T).
This is part of the reason why the 1996 ".184" nozzles are the only actual .184mm measured nozzles and all later ".184" nozzles are actually .170mm. The .170 has a smaller orifice but a higher fuel pressure and different injection duration which means that the same amount of fuel is injected regardless of nozzle size.
Audi A4 B7 - audi 1.9 TDI or 2.0 TDI - Avant. The 1.9 engine you have in the Golf is a good one. High-mileage diesels can be liable to major failure, but this applies more to the newer engines with their various appendages which go disastrously wrong. The 1.9TDI is a relatively old design and has less to go wrong, and therefore a good reputation.

Re: TDI vs. 2.0L (KrautRocketsROCK) 0-30 mph the TDI will kill the 2.0 (torque at work), after that, the low redline and overall RPM range will cause it to fall victim to 2.0. The TDI is rated at 90hp at the wheels. the 2.0 is rated at 115bhp. so the 2.0 actually has only 15 more hp over the TDI, and it revs longer, causing to be faster in . 289 340 27 426 216 222 20 353
